The SFPE Snake River Valley Chapter participated as judges at the 21st Idaho Regional Future City Competition on January 25th, 2025. The Future City Competition is a national, project-based learning experience where students in 6th-8th grade imagine, research, design, and build cities of the future that showcase their solution to a citywide sustainability issue. This year's competition saw many creative solutions and technologies used to address the challenges of this year's theme: a city that floats. The chapter presented a special award to the Best Application of Fire Protection Principles in City Design which was awarded to Tholos of American Heritage Charter School.
